The Browns have released their undrafted free agent signings. Here's what we've got:

Jesse Ainsworth	K	AZ State	6' 3"	218	A very hard worker, Ainsworth received "Hard Hat Player" awards three times for his workouts in ASU's strength & conditioning program. He's got a pretty strong leg on him, but we'll need to see more of him from 45+ yards. Can kick in poor weather conditions - a big need for kicking by the lake.
Charles Ali	FB	Arkansas-Pine Bluff	6' 2"	267	Not too much information out there on this guy. He used to play linebacker before making the switch to fullback. Could be a help on special teams.
Mike Alston	LB/S	Toledo	6' 2"	231	Wasn't overly spectacular in college, however still a solid player was named All-MAC his junior and senior years. Would most likely be a contributor on special teams and used for depth if he makes it.
Rick Drushal	OT	Wooster	6' 4"	305	Was very reliable in his career with Wooster. Started 42 games at left tackle (school record), and was a three-time Div III All-American. Grew up following the Browns, and could stick around on the practice squad if he doesn't make the 53-man roster.
Funtaine Hunter	LB	Vanderbilt	6' 2"	230	I'm a little confused by this one. Hunter was a reserve linebacker in college, but he was a consistent contributor on special teams.
Mike Mason	WR	Tenn State	6' 0"	190	This kid's got some potential. Has been clocked at a 4.24 second 40 time and is pretty strong for his size. He's coming off of a PCL strain (knee) and has had some character issues in the past, however. Was dismissed from North Carolina after he was charge with driving w/ a fake license. Could be an option for returns.
Tyrone Moss	RB	Miami	5' 9"	231	Has good bulk for a short-yardage back, but needs to learn to use it. Was on the verge of becoming a big name at Miami before tearing his ACL. Hands out of the backfield are okay, but not a strong point. If he comes in strong and healthy, he could have a decent chance.
Brent Pousson	G/C	McNeese State	6' 3"	305	Was apparently one of the leaders of the Cowboy offense for his junior and senior years. Seems to be a high-character guy with some developing potential. Had a couple minor injury issues in college.
Scott Stephenson	C	Iowa State	6' 3"	297	Here's a lineman with a bit of a mean streak. He's not a mauler, but he has pretty sound technique and good strength. Has had a couple surgeries to his shoulders, but could turn out to be a nice find.

Looking pretty good so far. We'll have to see how they do in Rookie Camp which starts today!

EDIT: We previously had running back Curtis Brown out of BYU on here, but he was only brought in as a tryout, and no contract was signed. Brown had a pretty solid college career, and could be an emergency return option.

I enjoy the web site.

I think many new pieces were added to the Browns puzzle this season, but I'm still unsure about the ability of this coaching staff. I'm trying to keep the faith, however.

If Romeo and Company fail, I think the last two drafts and free agencies have added helped stock the cupboards a bit more and the next guy - maybe Cowher (ehhh god) will have something to work with.

It doesn't matter. Unless the football version of Roy Hobbs emerges of course. Mark my words...Eric Wright will be selling a ton of jerseys by 2008.
